美军现役BDU的初步常识
美军现役BDU自80年代早期列装，USA、USN、USMC、USAF在BDU样式上无太大差别，军种区别在于军帽和徽章，USA和USAF戴帽墙前底后高之战斗帽，USMC和USN戴八角帽，奔尼帽各军种均采用。现役BDU上衣为宽松下摆五颗纽扣（领扣外露、其余暗藏）、两个箱式上口袋、两个箱式下口袋，均有兜盖，由两颗纽扣扣上兜盖，左胸口袋有笔袋。上衣无肩袢（偶见少量有肩袢），腰袢见于90年代中期前款式，后期相信已取消，袖口有用于调整松紧的袖袢及三颗纽扣。部分特种部队为求作战方便习惯将胸部口袋拆下缝于臂部、下口袋拆下斜向缝于胸部，并在作战时将上衣扎进裤子里。
役BDU裤子双侧兜双臀兜双腿兜，侧兜为挖式设计，臀兜为挖式设计有兜盖，由两颗纽扣扣上兜盖，腿兜为贴式设计有兜盖，由两颗纽扣扣上兜盖，兜盖朝人体前方一侧固定在腿兜本体上，裤脚有尼龙束紧带。
现役BDU色系中丛林迷彩主色为蓝黑、绿、褐、土黄四色，分温带型（偏黄色系）和热带型（偏暗绿色系），现役沙漠迷彩为土黄、褐、淡绿三色，现役BDU迷彩和色系视部队驻扎地状态装备。另外还有绿色已于80年代退出列装，六色沙漠迷彩90年代初退出列装， 黑色常见于特警和海豹队使用。
